Summer Lovin'

When summer begins in St. Louis, the festivals and activities are countless! Of course, H and I love to partake in as many as we can! Other than that, I have started volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and am becoming active with the UnitedWay in their NextGen Program with Erica. H is taking a few classes to sit for the CPA exam, which is very exciting!

Here are some of the outings we have had so far this summer:

  • BrewFest at Forest Park
  • Missy and I headed to the Taste of South Grand - found some really cool places I never heard of before!
  • Botanical Gardens - Garden Party
  • Party in the Park with the ladies
  • Wedding Celebration of Amy & Chirag
Here are the rest of the pics!

Quincy Weekends

This summer we have so far made it back to Quincy twice, which has been very nice! We usually don't' make it back as often as we would like, but due to summer events and festivities, we have the opportunity to see our family and friends back in Q-town many times this summer. Our first visit was a few weeks ago to spend time with the fam and for father's day. While we were there, we also were able to attend a wedding reception of a high school friend of H's. We also were able to visit with our dear friends the Dooley's, Aarti, and Jeff and their grandparents. I love visiting with them, I just wish we were able to see them more often! We wanted to make sure we got to spend time with both of our father's this year for their day, which we were able to do. We spent the afternoon with FIL, and headed back to the Lou to have dinner with my dad, mom and cousins.

The second trip we made was for H's 10-year High School Reunion. What a fun weekend! We went to Jazz on the Park Friday night, which was a casual meet and greet. Saturday, H, Evan, Jason, Kyle, Tanner, and I got up bright and early and for the Raider Classic. All of us except Evan did the 5K, he did the 10K. We had some placers in this run! Evan placed 1st in his age group for the 10K, Jason placed 1st in his age group for the 5K and H placed 2nd in his age group for the 5K. I placed, but it is a long story and should be saved for an evening over some wine.
Saturday night, a group of us headed to Tirmisu for dinner before the reunion. If you ever go to Quincy, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing and they had the best red wine I have had in quite some time. After dinner, we headed to the reunion at the Civic Center. It was a fabulous night!

Along with the reunion festivities, I was able to help my MIL and SIL with some wedding planning. SIL is getting married November 21, so there is much wedding excitement at the Bordewick home!

Here and here are the rest of the pics from the weekends!

Congratulations Ritu!

On June 12, Ritu graduated from Chicago School of Psychology with her M.A. in Clinical Counseling. The whole family headed up to Chicago to attend graduation and celebrate Ritu's accomplishment. First of all it is rare to have all of us together, but all six of us, plus H and significant others gathered together for a wonderful weekend. We attended Ritu's graduation at the Lyric Opera House - which was beautiful. We then enjoyed a weekend of family and friends - shopping, trying new restaurants, and enjoying each other's company.

Above are some of the photos from the weekend, the rest can be found here.

I have fallen behind on blogging - I am finally going to attempt to catch-up on our summer happenings!

Congratulations Mr. Michael and Mrs. Erica Havenar!

This past weekend we celebrated the wedding of two of our very dear friends. It was a beautiful and fun weekend! We started the celebration with the Rehersal Dinner at Sqwire's on Friday night. Saturday the wedding ceremony was held at St. Louis University's St. Francis Xavier College Church. It was a beautiful ceremony. Following the ceremony, the wedding party and guests joined the bride and groom on a trolly to hit some of the prime photo spots. The weather was absolutley gorgeous, which was perfect since the reception was at Forest Park's Worlds Fair Pavilion. It was stunning! It was the perfect weekend for such a special couple. We are so lucky we were able to celebrate this moment with them. Congratulations Mike & Erica!!!

Here are some more photos from the weekend.
