A good friend of mine forwarded me this article from the NY Times. It is about friendship and how it can help your health - makes sense! Thanks Aarti!

More than half way
Justin's mom has been staying with us during her radiation therapy, she has 2 more weeks left, and then we will have hit the 75% mark of treatment, the last phase will be reconstruction. We feel very fortunate that we live so close to the hospital to be able to help during the treatment. She is doing great, her spirits are high, and she is ready to be done! We have had some trouble with some of the techs and the quality of their work this time around, but I think we have them on track now and will sail through the rest of this. MIL has been feeling pretty good, a little tired and some side effects, but all in all, not to bad. We will be having a big party when she is done with all of it!

Welcome Garrett William Shirley
Wednesday, April 22, Garrett William Shirley was born at 1:15 p.m. at St. John's Hospital. He was 7 lbs 5 ounces. He has a head full of hair and looks like both mom and dad. Speaking of which, they are doing great. They headed home April 26, and are getting adjusted to their new bundle of joy. He is perfect in every way!

Celebrations!
The month of April has been a big celebratory month for us getting ready for Mike & Erica's big day on May 30th. It has been so much fun getting ready for their pending nuptials, I don't know what we are going to do when it's over! It started April 4 with a bachelorette party and bridal shower for Erica here in St. Louis. We began with dinner at House of Savoy, drinks and dancing at the Big Bang and night cap at the Four Seasons. The weekend of April 17, the ladies headed to Sanibel Island, Florida for Erica's destination bachelorette party, 4 days of fun in the sun! That same weekend the guys headed to Chicago for the Cubs v. Cards series at Wrigley. They rented a space on the rooftop, 3 floors of food, and drinks, and indoor and outdoor areas for them to spend 5 hours of their day! Needless to say, they had a really good time! Then on April 25, there was a bridal shower in Erica's hometown of Herrin, which was a wonderful time! We can't wait for the big day, it will be here so soon!

Siblings
I have 3 siblings, as you may know, and in the last couple of months all 3 have made great accomplishments:
Ritu - finishing her Masters in Psychology - she is wonderful at what she does and is going to make a great Psychologist! We will be traveling to Chicago in June to celebrate this milestone!
Priti - finishing her 46 page Senior Thesis - crazy I know - and graduating from University of Michigan in less than a month! We will be traveling to Ann Arbor in the beginning of May to celebrate this wonderful occasion!
Abhi - His mock trial team is headed to Nationals -visit the CMC website for more details. Mom & Dad have been the cheerleaders for his team and following them across the country and are hence honorary mock trial members now.
I am so proud of all 3 of them!
