Jammin' at the Zoo

Last night, H and I, Prity and Ryan, Missy and Doug headed out to Jammin' at the Zoo! It was a wine tasting event at the Zoo! So much fun! If you thought the zoo was fun in general, this tops it all! There were booths set up throughout the whole zoo, with entertainment and food booths. I can't wait until next summer to attend this great event again!

Tonight we have our volleyball championship game! We are playing for 1st place, if we win, we get a bucket of beers and t-shirts, wish us luck!

The week that wouldn't end

This last week left a little to be desired. I had a crazy week, and not very enjoyable! I will not bore you with the details, but let me just say, I am glad it's over! H is in Vegas for Ike's bachelor party. They come back tonight, yeah! It has been a pretty low key weekend for myself, which I'm sure is quite opposite of the Vegas dwellers. Friday night, I just hung out at Dawn's Bar downstairs. Saturday I did nothing all day and then headed out to Hidden Lake Winery with GG and then hung out at home afterwards. I think we may be getting old??? Nah! Just a long week :) Tonight I will be celebrating Kristina's last night as a single woman! Let's hope that the next week will be better things!

Closer to Fall!

I am definitely ready for fall! This weekend's weather was amazing, and I am ready for it to stay this way! This past week was fun and busy! Downtown Restaurant Week was great, so much fun and great food! Friday was a low key night, we went to Joshua's 3rd birthday party, and then headed home, I was pretty wiped out from the week! Saturday we got up and walked down to the London Tea Room for breakfast. It was the perfect morning! Saturday was Rakhee (Indian brother/sister day), unfortunately Abhi was not in town, but my dad was here, which was great. That afternoon we headed to a picnic with my parents. A few of their friends here in St. Louis put together a picnic out at the Elk Park, it was beautiful out there! It was an afternoon of food, drinks and games. That evening H and I had our date night. It has been hard to do our date nights during the week, so we started doing them whenever we find time to! We started our evening up on the deck enjoying some cocktails and cheese, then we headed over to Mike Shannon's for dinner. Amazing, that is all I can say about it! We spent the rest of the evening watching the Olympics at restaurant. If you have never been to Shannon's, you have to go, the food was perfect, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great! We then ended our evening up on the deck again! Today was a more laid back day, we headed to the Ritz for brunch with my parents and the Beguelin's, and then ran some errands. I had to work most of the afternoon and H had his fantasy football draft. Overall it was a great weekend, relaxing and fun! Pics from the past week and weekend are here.

A Weekend of No Pictures

Not even one picture was taken this past weekend, shocking! After a crazy week at work last week, I needed a break from it all! Justin headed to the Lake of the Ozarks Friday afternoon for a Guys' Weekend and I stayed in the Lou for some R&R. Friday night I headed out for dinner and cocktails with Erica. We went to B&T Pizza for some yummy New York Style Pizza and Sangria's, yum! It is the best pizza in the Lou! If you enjoy NY style pizza, you have to hit this new spot on Washington Ave., it is amazing. You can get a slice or an 18" pie! A little garlic and red pepper, you feel like you are in the big apple!

Saturday I enjoyed a full day at the spa, it was wonderful! It was 7 hours of pampering, food and wine. By the end of the day, I felt like a new person and so relaxed! I even got crazy and chopped off my hair! The evening was a nice relaxing one again, I hung out with Mike and Erica at their place.

Sunday I headed out to see Mama Mia, such an adorable movie! By the time I got back, H was back from the lake and he was exhausted! I had been craving Indian food, and we were going to do take out but I decided to get crazy and cook it! It actually turned out good! I may have a future in Indian cooking! It was an early night, we were tired and wanted to be rested up for the week!

We have an activity filled week, tomorrow night our Dinner Club is going out for Restaurant Week, we are going to hit Lombardo's Trattoria for this event. Wednesday, they are having a luncheon for my promotion at work, which will be fun and nerve-racking! Thursday we have our Monthly Condo Dinner, and will be dining at Solace. Friday we have Joshua's 3rd birthday party and Saturday we will be enjoying Restaurant Week again, this time at Mike Shannon's. If you have never been to Downtown Restaurant Week, I would highly recommend going. It is a 3 course dinner for $25/person. The food is great and there are also wine specials. It gives you the chance to try something new and there are many great new places downtown!

Have a great week!

Welcome August!

I can't believe that it is already August, the summer has flown by! The last couple of weekends have been nice and relaxing, which was much needed for us. Last weekend we had a Friday date night and went to see the Dark Knight, which was a very cool movie. Unfortunately, I was extremely tired, so much so, I fell asleep at the theater, oops! Other than my early check out from the movie, the rest of the evening was very fun. We went to Solace, off of Washington and 14th, for dinner and then went to the Moolah for the movie. Saturday, I obviously slept in because I was apparently very tired! Saturday we didn't do very much, hung out around the house and went to our friend Luke and Lisa's house that evening. The boys watched a fight and us girls hung out, it was a nice, relaxing evening. Sunday, another day of nothing! It was great!

Last Wednesday, myself and some of my college friends got together for dinner at J. Bucks in Fairview Heights. It was great to see everybody and catch up.

A volleyball update, due to the inclement weather, the last 2 games have been canceled. Hopefully we should be back in business this Thursday!

This past weekend was another low-key weekend. Friday night, we had date night and went to see Boyz II Men at Live off the Levee! It was fabulous! Other than the heat, it was perfect! They played all their greatest hits, and we sure did sing and dance along! Saturday was a day of shopping! My parents came in town, and we went shopping and then out to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Kemoll's. After dinner, our friends, Kyle and Ericka, came from Quincy and a group of us (Justin, Me, Erica O., Kyle and Ericka) headed to Harry's to listen to Dr. Zhivegas and enjoy the beautiful evening. I forgot how much I love Harry's! We used to go there all the time, and I now remember why! It was such a fun night, very much needed! Sunday, H and I shopped for fun home stuff, and decided to organize and de-clutter our condo! It was a lot of fun!

Overall it has been a very mild couple of weeks, on the home front that is. Work has been good, very busy! I am done with my training next week, so I am a little nervous, but excited to make the next move to further my career. I also was approved to sit for the Board of Governor's Exam through ACHE (American College of Health Care Executives), which I am very excited about. I will start studying for that this summer in order to take the exam before the holidays! H has been busy with work as well! He is loving working downtown, makes his commute very effortless, and his days not as long! It has been a fun summer, but I am ready for the Fall!

Pictures from the last couple weekends to come!
